Bearing in mind that it is mandatory that we have to pay a TV license (yes you heard me right over there in America – we have to pay a TV license for the privilege of watching television); does anyone agree that the BBC should do something about this tired, staid and out-of-date channel with it’s endless repeats and interminable do-gooding (don’t know about Red Nose Day – would like to give them a bloody nose) and awful soaps like Eastenders – which is an absolute insult to the people who live in the Eastend of London for being so simplistic?

Does anyone also feel that compared to BBC2 and the new BBC3 and 4, which have a constant stream of informative, provocative and well thought out programmes, that BBC1 is an absolute diatrab of chav-tv and game shows especially the national lottery one with it’s disjointed structure of trying to include the various lotteries with a quiz where you may not even have an outright winner – due to political correctness of not wanting to have losers ?
And to all of you you who say predictably – “you should get out more” – well what about the people who can’t get out more – and may not have or cannot afford satellite or cable tv – aren’t they entitled, especially when they HAVE TO PAY FOR IT – to a better service than this ?
I would also like to know why, when the other terrestrial channels find they CAN list the films on teletext being broadcast on for the day on all 5 terrestrial channels that the BBC cannot ?

I would proffer the reason would be because the BBC are insular and introspective. Sometimes I feel, especially when watching BBC1 that I am being conditioned, brainwashed – giving the party line – does anyone else feel like this ?
It’s only saving grace – like all the BBC channels – is there are no adverts – so if you are recording something you can get an uninterrupted recording – well at least until the credits – when they love to tell you about the next or future programmes coming on – which ALL channels seem to be guilty of – which is really annoying and disrespectful to the viewer not to mention irritating – because it mucks up an otherwise perfect recording of something – I actually would like to see the credits unsquashed and would also very much like to hear the soundtrack for whatever it is I’ve recorded – as well
Also I would like to know why the BBC feels that putting on ‘wall-to-wall’ coverage of some sporting events – especially on BBC2 (which is otherwise a great channel) is admissible and that balanced programming when said sporting event is on – is not ? And why cannot there be consensus between all the terrestrial channels not to have sport on more than one channel – I have known times – more often than not – on a Saturday, when there have been at least four channels with nothing on but sport and or kids programmes to watch !
Teacher I tried to answer you – you’re email address doesn’t seem to be working properly.

I would agree about SKY+ I would definitely like to have this technology – but am not in a situation to take advantage of it at the moment – did know that you can now set SKY to record your favourite programmes from your mobile phone ?

A notice from the UK national lottery saying you won a lot of money? Did you try claiming your prize? What happened if you did? Was it a mistake going into it?
