I just read Mitt Romney’s “resolved” question and it got me to wondering why in such religiously diverse including secularism does the idea of a National Lottery keep getting shot down? The revenues that a program like that could yiel would probably be enormous, seeing as there would be incentive to “pay” when in fact you would be gambling. I know what the religious right would have to say about this, but I don’t think sacrificing our economic health in favor of spiritulism is wise. I’m sure there are other roadblocks to an initiative such as this but exploring it seems like a good idea. Opinions or thoughts encouraged.
If “we” the people voted for it it would be constitutional as it would be ammended to accomodate such a law.

As for “idiots” gambling, I think this is obviously an approach bearing in mind that most people would be considered reasonable

SS/Medicare are going to run out of funds in about 17 years……..not looking good for all of the Baby Boomers getting ready to retire and have put money into these programs for 50+ years! A National Lottery could pay back part of the borrowed fund money so that our children won’t be taxed to death and we will get our money ! Short term solution for the Boomers……………….
