?Blossom? asked: Hi I was wondering if anyone has ever received a mail from a company called THE NATIONAL LOTTERY FOUNDATION?
I receive a lot of emails from the UK and British online lottery, but I ignore them.
But today so happen I received one in the mail from THE NATIONAL LOTTERY FOUNDATION with a check in it for $3,426.75
I was just wondering if it was a fraud or not?!?!
I called the toll free number they had listed on the paper they sent me but it didnt say anything like “thank you for calling THE NATIONAL LOTTERY FOUNDATION” it just said “please leave your name, number and message and we’ll get back to you right away.”
Im a little startled because it really seems real, but at the same time I just dont want to believe that its real because of their answering machine message.
I mean I do remember browsing through the internet and coming across a website that said “click here to enter the lottery and win $100,000″ so thats the reason why I did it.
I thought it was fake and I was just fooling around on the computer killing some time.
I didnt believe they would ever send me anything.
The address is 2065 Rochester Rd. Farmington NY 14425.
The toll free number I called was 1-866-645-6800.
The name listed is Gary Powell FINACIAL MANAGER.
Please anyone with information please tell me if you know anything.
I dont want to accidently make a call that will screw up anything in my life.
Best Answer: 10pts.
I did state in my above statement that I have come across a website and entered their contest.
And again its not an email that I have received.
This letter came in the mail with a check for $3,426.75.
What should I do with it?
Should I dispose of the check?
Turn it in to the police station?
Please help me out because i dont know what to do.
Oh my goodness, guess what?
I called them and asked the guy if the check was real and the guy said yes to me.
And when i said “i found out that there is not NATIONAL LOTTERY FOUNDATION in new york” he hung me up.
